He could be humorous, sharp and questioning while attuned to our struggles as academics in seeking understanding in authentic ways. He was a generous man and a good human being, adult educator and scholar.

Professor John Field (1949-2024)

On behalf of UALL Trustees, we are sad to report the death of Professor John Field whom many members and colleagues will have known well. John died in early April and we wish to acknowledge the outstanding contribution that he made across his career to the fields of lifelong learning and adult education.
