SCUTREA at Hall of Fame

International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame

We have invited key thinkers who have played a pivotal role in advancing adult education and the social justice agenda to speak to our co-chairs, Dr Nic Dickson and Dr Sharon Clancy about the future direction of SCUTREA.

We will further expand this effort by speaking with other esteemed figures at the upcoming Hall of Fame conference in Florence this November. This event presents a valuable opportunity to deepen our reach and gather insights that will enrich our understanding of adult education’s evolution.

Professor Bonnie Slade, our SCUTREA archivist and former Chair, has meticulously reviewed 50 years of conference proceedings, creating a comprehensive database to support the insights from our discussions with these scholars. The contributions are further strengthened by our collaboration with Dr Nalita James on the editorial team from the Studies in the Education of Adults, ensuring that our findings and reflections are documented and shared with a wider audience.

Nic, Bonnie and Nalita will be present at the Hall of Fame conference in November 2024 and represent SCUTREA. Together, we will work to develop partnerships and further embed the work of SCUTREA on the international arena.
