LLE should be based exclusively on a per credit funding model
Response to the Lifelong Loan Entitlement (LLE) Consultation
The Lifelong Education Commission submitted their response to the DfE’s Lifelong Loan Entitlement (LLE) Consultation, making the case for a more open and flexible system:
- The LLE should be based exclusively on a per-credit funding model, allowing learners to use their entitlement in the most efficient way
- Tying the LLE to an online lifelong learning account could discriminate against older learners, learners without permanent residence, learners from a recent migrant background, and those from low-income backgrounds/households
- LSIP partnerships need to help local employers and education providers engage in economic forecasting on 5-, 10-, 20-, and 50-year timescales
